London Grid for Learning – Counter-Extremism: narratives and conversations

Launched in response to schools’ new duties under the Counter-Terrorism and Security Act 2015, ‘Counter-Extremism: narratives and conversations’ enables and empowers teachers to discuss and respond to highly-sensitive discussions of extremism.

Some schools were initially concerned that they lacked the expertise to deal with this sensitive issue, and that it had potential to damage relationships and community cohesion.

LGfL called on two extremism experts, Sarah Khan and Matthew Goodwin, and together created a unique, question-based video resource for teachers, covering a wide range of issues relating to both ISIS and far-right extremism.
