Kano

Kano is a new kind of computer company. Our kits and software give people the power to create technology, not just consume it. Kano’s end to end platform lets you build real devices, learn to code, and share your creations with the world. Our team represents two dozen nationalities and every discipline, and we work to demystify technology, end to end. We build out of London, Shenzhen, and Boston. We share a belief in DIY, learning by doing, storytelling, and realism.

Learning by Questions

Learning by Questions (LbQ) is a classroom app filled with more than 800 curriculum aligned Question Sets and immediate pupil feedback to super charge learning. LbQ reduces teacher workloads with automatic marking and real-time lesson reports to verify learning as it happens. Real-time data pinpoints where intervention is needed and why. Pupils use devices, to progress through scaffolded Question Sets at their own pace and receive immediate feedback as they answer. Funded and owned by the Bowland Charitable Trust and led by the founder of Promethean Tony Cann CBE. Independent testing of the programme by the Institute for Effective Education confirms that using LbQ could provide an additional term’s progress over a school year.

Lexplore

Lexplore combines the latest in AI technology with over 30 years of research into the relationship between eye movements and neurological difficulties, from the Karolinska Institute, which provides the Nobel Prize in medicine. Our entirely computer based assessment monitors a child’s spontaneous eye movement whilst reading, and quickly evaluates how the main cognitive processes involved work together. As our technology can pick up on minor differences in the way children’s brains process text, we can determine individual reading attainment, and highlight those at risk of Dyslexia, all in a matter of minutes.

National Online Safety

National Online Safety support schools across the UK to keep children safe online through engaging award-winning online safety training and classroom resources for the whole school community. It is our mission to make the internet a safer place for children and we achieve this through equipping school staff, parents and children with the knowledge they need to understand current online dangers and how best to react should an incident arise. The NOS School Community package has been developed in line with DfE statutory guidance ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ and includes unlimited licences, is updated regularly and is delivered digitally; making it easy for schools to effectively manage their training and resources centrally.
