Offering an immersive, narrative-driven, academic pedagogy, this interactive platform has been created to allow distance learning students to experience real-life vocational aspects of investigative roles that they would not normally be able to experience in a DL course. With a series of scenes, examples, and environments, the tasks in the VR enhance learner’s digital skills, their knowledge skills and their investigative skills. Our innovative platform stands out in the e-learning sector, thanks to the unprecedented levels of immersion provided by the technology. While typical e-learning content might be informative, it often lacks a visually engaging approach. We bridge this gap by offering immersive, visually stimulating learning experiences. The unique VR also allows the students to progress academically, with repetitive formative assessment collated together to form their summative assessment. It also allows the distance learning students an insight into how processes and procedures are in the real world of policing and criminal investigation.
