‘Ffrindiau Bach’ (Welsh for ‘Little Friends’) is an educational app for young learners aged 3-5. Created by Atebol and part-funded by Welsh government, it’s a fun and colourful way to learn the letters of the Welsh alphabet.
Created by Wales based education practitioners, the app compliments the Welsh Curriculum helping to develop Welsh language, literacy and communication skills. Suitable for home and early learning settings, there’s a Ffrindiau Bach character for everyone. We hope that the app encourages the next generation to learn one of the oldest indigenous languages in Europe.
This multi-layered app, which can be purchased for 99p on all main app stores, includes:
1. Bespoke stories introducing the different letters of the Welsh alphabet with an engaging range of characters.
2. A comprehensive voice over in Welsh to help learners develop their understanding skills.
3. Tracing and copying exercises for each letter to develop written skills.
4. Entertaining games to develop the visual memory.
