Collins – Adapt for Primary Maths
Smart digital learning that delivers – trusted Collins content matched to the curriculum in a powerful adaptive learning platform that can cut learning time in half.
Adapt supports every pupil and builds confidence with a data driven approach to intervention; and every teacher – providing detailed data on the whole class allowing them to focus their time where it will have most impact.
Responding to each pupil as a unique individual Adapt utilises cognitive science that improves recall – using algorithms that learn and adapt to identify what pupils already know – and more importantly, what they don’t. It gives each child individual support, helping them to get back on track by identifying gaps in understanding, then teaching that content again.
Using globally tested cognitive science, the technology underpinning Adapt has been improving learning outcomes for over 25 years, tracking not only understanding but also each pupil’s metacognition – what they know about what they know – creating a unique pathway to learning success.
With a range of uses – practice, targeted intervention, homework, assessment, revision and SATs preparation, Adapt improves outcomes and engagement for the whole class and measures the impact – without having to change how you teach.
IXL is an adaptive program offering a comprehensive Reception – Year 13 curriculum that is proven to help students master essential maths and numeracy concepts.
More than 2,000 standards-aligned skills in its Year-1 through Year-5 maths curriculum promote rigour by helping primary students develop a conceptual understanding of maths and numeracy, build procedural fluency and tackle challenging problems that have real-world applications. Each skill is truly adaptive, adjusting in difficulty with every question based on students’ responses to ensure they are perfectly challenged and supported. Based on students’ previous work, IXL generates personalised recommendations in real time, guiding learners to the skills that will help them make the most progress.
Additionally, educators use IXL’s built-in instructional resources, including corrective feedback, audio support and step-by-step explanations, to facilitate independent learning.
IXL’s first-of-its-kind assessment, the Real-Time Diagnostic, helps educators efficiently measure students’ knowledge levels and areas for growth. IXL’s Diagnostic provides real-time readouts of students’ grade-level proficiency in key maths strands. It then generates personalised action plans with specific next steps for growth, linking learners to the skills they need for success. And with IXL Analytics, teachers can monitor performance to quickly identify and fix student trouble spots.

Renaissance Learning – Freckle
Freckle is a maths practice programme for primary schools designed to promote learning through active pupil engagement. By giving each pupil work at the ‘just right’ step for them, they feel motivated to keep learning. Freckle is accessed online from any internet-enabled device, meaning it can be used for classroom learning, remote learning, and homework.
Freckle supports planning and assessment for teachers and leaders. Teachers get real-time insight into each pupil’s performance by domain and at a class level on specific objectives and individual assignments, providing actionable data that recommends the next best skills to focus on.
Freckle places a pupil on their own maths pathway by identifying their specific starting point in each of the six maths domains aligned to the English National Curriculum. This is done through our Star Maths computer-adaptive testing, which is included in the package. Freckle covers all National Curriculum objectives that are digitally practice-able, breaking down each objective into its component skills. Renaissance’s partnership with the National Foundation of Educational Research (NFER) has led to the creation of empirically-valid learning progressions, meaning that Star can accurately assess a student’s understanding of National Curriculum domains and indicate which skills they are ready to learn next.
