Gratnells – Gratnells Learning Rooms Furniture Range
Murray Hudson, Gratnells Managing Director and co-author of the book, Planning Learning Spaces, cited the Gratnells Learning Rooms furniture range as “the most significant redesign of the British classroom in over 100 years.”
The curriculum-led design of this range was inspired by years of research and development. The innovative, purposeful, and agile furniture can be used in primary schools to provide learner-led environments and is shown to boost pupil engagement, independence, and confidence.
In-depth research studies and close collaboration with schools have driven our vision for educationally effective classroom design. Professor Peter Barrett, co-author of the renowned Clever Classrooms report, observed the effect of the Gratnells Learning Rooms furniture range with Trumpington Park Primary School (TPPS). He wrote “In almost all cases the increased flexibility and associated choice presented has been a positive opportunity that has resulted in a stronger overall class performance.” Head Teacher, Mel Shute proudly reports “We see the outcomes that the children have had from being within a space that’s designed around the things that we hold to the heart of great education, our academic outcomes are great and are rising which is really positive”.
Picture News is a current affairs resource for children aged 3-16. Each week schools receive a resource pack containing a thought-provoking image and question alongside a range of other resources designed to generate thought, discussion and debate and expose children, their schools and communities to a variety of current affairs.
Picture News resources allow schools to create engaging and exciting lessons, allowing opportunities for children to learn about our world, develop independence, resilience, respect, make connections with our world to learn more about themselves and others and unlock their own drive and passion for learning. Teaching the news not only provides great content and stimulus and grips children’s attention, it is also something that the children can impact. It is current, happening now and so their voice is given meaning and purpose.
The nature of Picture News enables the resource to not just impact those in school, but its reach includes children’s families and the whole community. Everyone can learn more about our diverse world, be more inclusive and be inspired to act. It is our world, we all matter and we can all make a difference.

The Literacy Company – Pathways Literacy
Pathways Literacy is a unique and innovative portfolio of programmes: Pathways to Write, Pathways to Read, Pathways to Home Learning, Pathways to Poetry, Pathways to Spell and Pathways to Progress. Each programme can be used independently but the portfolio is carefully woven together using skills from the national curriculum and the reformed EYFS framework. Each programme focuses on a finite number of skills that build progressively throughout the year, allowing pupils to develop confidence so that each skill can be mastered. This methodology sets the Pathways Literacy portfolio of programmes apart from other products available to schools.
Pathways Literacy offers high quality resources with inclusivity at its heart from clear guidance for all pupils to clear support for parents or mixed-age planning to support smaller schools. The impact of these research-based programmes is evident from school feedback and from Ofsted reports. Customer care is second to none with a dedicated business support team and consultants who care passionately about outcomes for children; all of the latter having been teachers themselves so they fully understand the needs of education and schools. Users can expect high quality customer service alongside a top-quality product.
